Check out what our scholars are learning!

3rd Grade: Students have been working diligently to complete the first couple of components on their Toys Through Time projects. Students have become an expert on a toy of the past as well as a historical event, social concern, or environmental concern. Now- let the creativity begin! Students must redesign their toy in a way that teaches others about their selected event/concern. We can't wait to see these projects on display at the Museum of the New South (in Charlotte), in April. |
4th Grade: UPDATE COMING SOON! |
5th Grade: Following Spring Break, 5th grade students will complete units on Measurement and Geometry. Then, a Guided Math model will be the framework, in which students will be working in differentiated math groups to review all 5th grade concepts. It's hard to believe we are at the "review time of year." In ELA, students will begin the Persuasion Unit (by the College of William and Mary). This unit highlights elements of persuasion especially as it relates to oral communication. Students must cite passages from literature to defend their points of view in dscussion as well as in written arguments. Literature selections such as “The Valiant,” “The Pied Piper of Hamelin,” and the Declaration of Independence frame the basis for exploring the reasoning process through analysis and interpretation. |
